1) Meet your Account manager potential

This person is key to the equation!

She is the one who will bring the program to life and help you make it effective.

If you don't get along, communicate little, or end up managing your program by yourself, you might as well not pay for a platform...

2) Ask in which department you are going to be managed

Small, medium, large accounts?

This point is not a question of ego fighting, but of appropriate follow-up.

It is often better to be an important customer in a small team than a small customer in a large team!

This of course depends on each affiliate platform. From experience, Awin will appeal to larger accounts, where Effinity and Kwanko will be ideal for medium-sized accounts.

3) Is the platform operating in a bubble?

Being excellent at affiliate marketing is good.

To swear by affiliation without looking at what other levers it is articulated with is... worse.

Verify that your future platform is not not stuck in a 100% affiliate bubble and understands your business challenges!

4) Ask what the maximum cancellation rate is

The maximum cancellation level to be negotiated is often limited to 30%. Find out in advance... you may have to discuss it.

We advise you to cancel your sales after looking at the turnover, it is more profitable.

5) Define quality support objectives

... and in the contract, please!

This is a point that is often overlooked, even though it is fundamental.

Since it is mainly a delegation of management, if the person who takes care of your program is not very proactive after signing, you will not have recourse without specific objectives.

The Alphalyr Council : a support objective may for example consist of proposals for the activation of new levers, publishers or promotions by the account manager. After all, what could be worse than a flat encephalogram program? You can also expect your account manager to regularly check that the promotional codes relayed online are still valid.

6) Avoid the fixed fees requested by some platforms

This model will charge you more when you earn more... but you'll still have to pay monthly fees if the quality of performance worsens.
